Premier Adoption provides all of your home study needs, fully licensed in the states of Nevada, Utah, and Arizona.
The home study report is a document which consists of an overall in depth evaluation of you, your family and your home. It describes in detail who you are, where you come from, and your motivation to adopt.
Home studies assess many different factors including:
You will not need to have a room “nursery ready”, or have your home baby proofed by the time of your home study. Although, you must do so by the time your adopted child can crawl.
A social worker will be the one visiting your home.
Premier will send a detailed, downloadable checklist along with onboarding information.
Details about the family's cultural background, family dynamics, and previous experiences with adoption or foster care.
An assessment of the prospective parents' reasons for wanting to adopt, understanding of the challenges, and support.
An assessment of the cleanliness and suitability of the home, as well as the presence of safety measures.
Domestic-adopting a child that is born in the United States-needs to meet the requirements for your state.
Intercountry/International-adopting a child that is born abroad. Needs to meet state standards, the country’s standards where you’re adopting from, and immigration standards.
We are licensed to provide inter-country services in the States of Arizona, Nevada and Utah. All intercountry adoptions, regardless of state or country, require a Hague complaint home study performed by a Hague Accredited Agency. Premier has been Hague accredited since 2008 and is currently accredited by our accrediting body IAAME. Hague accredited agencies are awarded this distinction by the US Department of State and are recognized universally as agencies who follow the highest levels of ethics and knowledge of the intricacies of performing intercountry services.
As a Hague accredited agency, we are transparent in the services that we provide. If there is a grievance or complaint that a family has that cannot be quickly and easily rectified we encourage our families to utilize our complaint procedure found here.
In Nevada, your home study must be completed by a Nevada licensed adoption agency. Home studies completed by independent social workers will not be accepted. If you live in any of the states we are licensed in, we would be happy to complete your home study for you. If you live in another state, please contact us and we will help you find an adoption agency in your area to provide this service.
Arizona, Nevada and Utah families that would like to begin the home study process can contact us for information at 702-475-4910.
The home study is comprised of many items. For example, results of criminal and child abuse background checks, interviews with the applicants (individual and joint), personal questionnaires, medical reports, reference letters, a thorough home inspection, and many more.
The process usually takes three to five months in most states. Nevada and Utah are usually on the quicker side. But it always varies.
